Enhance your bicep training with the Deltech Fitness Preacher Curl Bench (DF306), designed for precision and durability. This heavy-duty bench features adjustable height settings on both the curl pad and seat, allowing you to customize your position for optimal comfort and muscle engagement. The extra-wide curl pad is fixed at a 45-degree angle, specifically engineered to isolate the biceps and maximize workout effectiveness. Compatible with both barbells and dumbbells, this bench supports a wide range of curling exercises to target your arms from multiple angles. Built with robust steel tubing and finished with a resilient powder-coat paint, the DF306 is engineered to withstand years of intense use in home gym settings. Its thoughtful design and solid construction make it an essential tool for serious lifters aiming to develop stronger, more defined biceps. The Armrest has 7 adjustments 1 1/2" apart and 7 seat adjustments at 1" apart to fit a wide range of users.
Note: The only difference between this bench and the DF308 is the front. Both benches have the same features.
WEIGHTS AND BAR NOT INCLUDED
The preacher curl mainly targets the biceps brachii, especially because the bench position isolates the elbow flexors and limits momentum.
Primary muscles worked
Biceps brachii
This is the main muscle being trained. It has two heads:
- Long head — contributes to the outer “peak” of the biceps
- Short head — contributes to thickness on the inner side of the arm
Preacher curls often emphasize the short head a bit more because of the arm position on the pad.
Secondary muscles involved
Brachialis
- Lies underneath the biceps
- Helps flex the elbow
- Building this muscle can make the arms look thicker overall
Brachioradialis
- A forearm muscle that assists with elbow flexion
- More active if using a neutral or EZ-bar grip
Stabilizing muscles
Forearm flexors
Help grip and stabilize the weight.
Anterior deltoid
Provides slight shoulder stabilization during the movement.
Why preacher curls feel different
Because your upper arms are fixed against the pad:
- momentum is reduced
- the biceps stay under tension longer
- the stretch at the bottom is increased
That makes preacher curls very effective for isolating the biceps compared with standing curls.
